I’m one of those people who rarely laugh at comedies so when I do I’m usually caught off guard and have the oh-so pleasant milk out the nose experience. Recently, I came across the “Pirates of the Great Salt Lake” film site and clicked to watch the trailer. Honestly, my expectations were about as high as when I click on a blurry “I shot this in my bathroom!” youtube.com video. But instead I was pleased to find nicely done scenes, one after the other making me break out laughing. The film looks to be comedic quotable genius. Man, I really should learn to stop drinking milk while sitting at the computer. The trailer left my husband and me giggling and quoting the trailer for the rest of the night.
The film stars Kirby Heyborne and Trenton James as two pirates rivaling actor Larry Bagby (fantasy fans should know him as Larry, the gay football player from early “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”). The two main pirates (Kirk and Flint) have had a long and disappointing three week career as pirates on the Great Salt Lake, until they find the long lost treasure map! But wait, what about the rival guy? And “isn’t all pirate treasure cursed”? Hopefully, these questions will be answered soon, as this film is making the rounds this spring.
Until then, I could shove quotes at you from this film all day, but instead I suggest that you put down your glass of milk, and check out the film’s trailer! Arrr!
