Wizard's First Rule - on TV!

The sword of truth series by Terry Goodkind is now becoming a television series on ABC. Sam Raimi, most well known for his work directing the Spider-Man films, will be directing the show, entitled “Wizard’s First Rule” after the first book in the (currently) eleven book series. The show will begin airing in HD this fall, filming of the 22 greenlit episodes is scheduled to begin in May.
The Sword of Truth series follows Richard Cypher after the murder of his father. Cypher’s journey is full of violence, sex, and violent sex, leading many to wonder…why ABC? In a post on Terry Goodkind’s website, he addresses many of the concerns loyal fans will be having. He has shown us a sample poster for the tv show, explains that he will be working with the writers on each episode, and talks about Disney’s purchasing of the rights and their interests in the series. I am personally excited to see a fantasy television show on one of the main networks with some powerful names behind it and am very hopeful that this will turn into something, well, fantastic!
