Harry Potter Amusement Park Overview (thus far)

On May 31st, 2007 Warner Brothers Entertainment and Universal Orlando Resort announced their plan to create “The Wizarding World of Harry Potter”, an attraction at the Florida amusement park. It will include a full scale model of places in Harry Potter’s world mentioned in the books and films.
Specific details on park attractions are not yet available, although people have been speculating that there will be a recreation of the Hogsmeade Village, Hogwarts Castle, and the Forbidden Forest. Universal has said that the size of the park will be comparable to other islands at Universal’s Island of Adventure. The project is estimated to cost between $235 and $265 million. Both J.K. Rowling and the production designer for the film sets have had a hand in the design plans.

The park should be open between December 15th, 2009 and June 30th, 2010. The project is estimated
